"In spirit, JJV is a tribute to Punjab and Sikh splendour. More specifically, it stands inspired by the unique travelogues of Maharaja Jagajit Singh of Kapurthala, the erstwhile ruler of the land of my forefathers, the Ahluwalias. I sifted through never seen before photographs and extracts from his personal journals to interpret the story of a king who wanted to bring the world to his people & indeed, take his people to the world. JJV each season will therefore borrow intriguing and curious nuances from his life & travels and elegantly weave them into its collections."
